Cannabis helps sleep apnea

Cannabis Helps Sleep Apnea
Cannabis helps sleep apnea, there’s no doubt in my mind. There is also some evidence to suggest that cannabis may help improve sleep in individuals with sleep apnea, a condition characterized by interruptions in breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea can lead to daytime fatigue, cognitive impairment, and other health problems.

THC helps sleep apnea

One study published in the journal Sleep in 2013 found that dronabinol, a synthetic form of THC (the main psychoactive compound in cannabis), reduced the severity of sleep apnea in a small group of participants. Another study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine in 2018 found that medical cannabis use was associated with significant improvements in sleep quality and daytime sleepiness in individuals with sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea worth the cannabis risks?

While there is some evidence to suggest that cannabis may help improve sleep in individuals with sleep apnea, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of cannabis on this condition. Some studies have shown that cannabis use can reduce the severity of sleep apnea and improve sleep quality and daytime sleepiness. However, it’s worth noting that smoking cannabis can have negative effects on respiratory health, which may be of particular concern for individuals with sleep apnea who may already have compromised lung function. It’s important to speak with a healthcare professional before using cannabis for any medical condition, including sleep apnea. Overall, the evidence is not yet strong enough to make a definitive conclusion about the efficacy of cannabis for sleep apnea, and more research is needed to fully understand its potential benefits and risks.

Send your cannabis sleep apnea feedback

Do you have sleep apnea? Do you smoke cannabis? Let us know how cannabis helps your sleep apnea or if it makes it worse. From my experience breeding cannabis,  cannabis helps sleep apnea, but it doesn’t fully cure it. I am working hard to to breed a better strain specific for sleep apnea sufferers. My gut tells me I can’t fix it 100%, but I will be able to help more than current strains can. Cannabis helps sleep apnea, but it can’t cure it.

Mr. BC Seeds is an over educated old school hippy who has been involved in the cannabis industry since the 1970's. He is one of the most experienced marijuana breeders in Canada if not the entire world. He was the first to use the most advanced breeding techniques in 2008 to create 42 of the world's strongest cannabis strains. He has been writing in-depth articles about cannabis in Canada for decades and looks forward to continue bringing you cutting edge cannabis strains for the decades to come. Mr. BC Seeds uses a "pen name" because he still travels the world collecting cannabis strains and continues researching cannabis in laboratories of non-legalized countries.

  1. I have just been diagnosed with Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome, which is basically a less severe version of sleep apnea, one for which my insurance will not pay for a CPAP. I find that eating a half a gummy in the evening helps me sleep better. I don’t wake up as often, if at all, and I am clearheaded on awakening. Whether that means less apnea or not, I can’t say for sure, but I can say it has greatly improved my sleep.
